Our Executive Team

Scott Walter

Scott Walter was appointed Executive Director of CODE in 2007. He brings to the organization a wealth of experience in international education, development and leadership with both government and non-governmental organizations. As Director of International Development at the International Reading Association for 7 years, he was responsible for global literacy development and spearheaded a number of multi-country initiatives. He also had a five year tenure at the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) in various roles, including Principal Advisor, Education.  Mr. Walter worked previously for CODE in 1988 as Director of its East Africa office, returning to Ottawa in 1991 as Director of International Development. Mr. Walter began his professional career in education as a high school teacher in Lesotho with the World University Service of Canada.
