Our People

We are drawn together as a community of practice, a community of education partners that are convinced that the surest way to achieve lasting peace and prosperity is to build a world in which all people — girls and boys, women and men — can get an education and lead healthy, productive lives. One where every person can earn a living wage, have a voice in their community, and leave a better planet for future generations.

Affiliates

We are proud of our entrepreneurial and innovative history, highlighted by the establishment of three affiliate organizations: CODE Incorporated, the CODE Foundation and the International Book Bank.

In 1987, CODE started a for-profit company, CODE Incorporated, to generate profits to support our development programs. Today CODE Inc. is the leading global integrator of voter registration and election materials and has become a multi-million dollar business that has donated millions of dollars to CODE in support of our programming.

The CODE Foundation, established in 1992, is an endowment fund that manages and invests bequests and other planned gifts. The CODE Foundation donates its investment income annually to CODE.

The International Book Bank (IBB) is a non-profit distribution service for books and other educational materials donated by North American publishing companies and the education community. IBB distributes these materials to non-for-profit organizations in developing countries, including CODE's partners.

This successful family of affiliates strengthens our ability to deliver quality education programming by increasing our financial sustainability as well as effectively supporting our long term overseas partnerships. To learn more about our history, please visit Our Story.
