Get creative: Supporter of the month
Every Monday morning Aviv Fried gets on his bicycle and delivers his home-baked organic bread around downtown Calgary. He sells the fresh loaves for $6 each, and donates his profits to CODE.
“I grew up in a house full of books. I love to be surrounded by books and I always have one on the go. I believe that apart from their educational value, books teach you respect for other people and humility."
Aviv realized he could combine his love of bread-making with the cause he wanted to support. “When I read about CODE, I decided that I should get involved. I plan to raise $1000.”
Sales from Aviv’s bread support the Chitenga F.P School library in Malawi, used by about 2500 children. Through CODE’s Adopt-a-Library program, Aviv and his friends help provide furnishings, professional support for librarians and books.
Further, CODE can leverage Aviv's donation 3:1 through the Canadian International Development Agency.
