CODE works with partners in Ethiopia, Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique, Mali, Senegal, Ghana and Guyana to provide resources for learning, promote awareness and understanding, and encourage self-reliance.”
CODE received the Government of Canada Literacy Innovation Award, the Jennie Mitchell "Celebrate Literacy" Award of the Ontario and International Reading Associations and the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) International Prize for Literacy.
