Overseas, CODE works with 12 partner organizations in eight countries: seven in Africa and one in the Caribbean. CODE's primary target group is primary school-aged children. CODE is committed to supporting communities where children have inadequate access to literacy resources and skilled teachers. CODE works with partners who provide services to children in such areas. A CODE partner may address the needs of the total population, but will receive support from CODE only for the part directed towards increasing the literacy level of children.
