Ottawa-based literacy organization 'CODE' Nurturing African Literature for Teens
In the heart of Sandy Hill, at the corner of Chapel and Laurier streets, sits a majestic, red brick Victorian house once the private residence of a Bytown fuel merchant named John Heney.
321 Chapel is now know as "CODE House" - home to Canadian literacy organization CODE and where a team of dedicated program managers coordinates, with partners thousands of miles away, a new literary award called the Burt Award for African Literature.
