we(e)press
Canadian children’s book publishing house we(e)press is, like CODE, an Ottawa-based registered charity. To fulfill their charitable purpose, all of their books are royalty free, sold instead to raise funds in support of CODE’s child education and literacy projects. Each we(e)press book sold will both fund CODE work with local African organizations as well as the printing of the book’s next edition, thereby raising funds for CODE literacy projects in perpetuity.
we(e)press books come in all shapes and sizes, for kids of all ages. While each of their books is designed with a specific age group in mind, they all uniformly support a message or metaphor of the “global village”. we(e)press books are a means through which the parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, school teachers and librarians that are caring for the kids of “Generation WE” can continue to foster this seemingly innate sense of interconnectedness today’s youth has.
