Agonquin College's Acaemic Upgrading program s the key to success for hundreds of students with postsecondary ambitions
Algonquin is pleased to report that last year the College's Academic Upgrading programs helped 553 students to gain the training and skills they needed to get into, and be successful in, their post-secondary program of choice. In total, these students made the transition to 100 different post-secondary and apprenticeship programs.
"Every year we track which programs our graduates enrol in and we follow their progress through the first semester of their new program," says Claire Snasdell-Taylor, Chair of the Career and Academic Access Centre at Algonquin College. "This research has shown us that graduates from our Academic Upgrading programs do very well in their future studies and are more likely to remain committed to pursuing a post-secondary education."

The column will be shared with other literacy organizations and partners of CODE and is a wonderful opportunity for CODE to share its literacy stories.
