In some parts of the world, educational materials such as books, paper, pencils, rulers and erasers are scarce and expensive. Supplies we use every day in Canada can be difficult to obtain by people who live in remote villages or impoverished areas of Africa, for example.

CODE's Project Love is a great opportunity for Canadian youth to act as global citizens by sending much-needed educational materials to students and teachers in developing countries. The program talks to young people about international development in terms they can understand. And it gives them a hands-on activity to help their global neighbours their own age.

It's also an opportunity for Canadian students and community groups to learn about the challenges faced by children and teachers in other parts of the world. Best of all, Project Love provides an opportunity to think locally, act globally and make a difference.

Project Love was initiated on Valentine's Day in 1987 by CODE volunteers in London, Ontario. Project Love is the proud recipient of a Canada Post Corporation Flight for Freedom Literacy Award and the Jennie Mitchell Celebrate Literacy Award of the International and Ontario Reading Associations. Help us celebrate 20 years of Love!

Project Love is celebrating 20 years of helping Canadians make a difference.

Since the program's inception in 1987, CODE has shipped more than a million and a half Project Love kits of school supplies to students in Africa and the Caribbean. It has grown from a project involving 34 schools to an award-winning program undertaken by more than 500 schools, youth and community groups in every province and territory across Canada. Together these groups assist more than 80,000 students and teachers in the developing world each year.

To celebrate and honour this achievement, Project Love has special 20th Anniversary stickers and postcards. The postcards provide a way for participants to write a friend or family member and encourage them to get involved.

Send us an email if you wish to receive a specific quantity.
